School's out for Summer...or not

So the kids are out for the summer from their Montessori school, they had been counting down the days to just be home.  I was also counting down the days for them to be home as well.  I have so many exciting plans this summer, but what is going to take up most of our summer is ART and MUSIC, as well as learning to pray the Rosary.  We are going to be doing an artist study and playing piano using the Soft Mozart software and playing the ukulee.  Such fun things.

New School Year

The kids are officially back to school. Where did our summer go? Jimena is attending full day, getting off at 3p.m. and Moises well he is perfectly fine with 3 hours. Jimena you go to school so calm, carrying a pleasant smile with you. I wish I was that calm when I was young. You are trying the school lunch and well so far I have gotten very few happy faces meaning you don't really like the food, but you will keep trying until your laptop lunch arrives in the mail. Moises, your still in Lupitas class for the rest of the week until the transition you in to Children's house. I know you don't fit in those small chairs but your not to excited about going back since you keep repeating how much you want to just stay home to play. I love how you find comfort at home, never wanting to leave unless it's to go to the park. Both of you are growing so fast and I want to make sure I don't stay behind growing alongside you.

Goals for the School Year:
1. Jimena and Moises will dress themselves in the mornings.
2. Brush teeth after breakfast and dinner.
3. Clean chair and table after eating and place cups in the sink.
4. Put PJ's by yourselves.
5. Jimena will start scrubbing herself in the shower.

Mom School Year Goals:
1. Have activity for each book list book read.
2. Poem memorization.
3. IPhoto Pro
4. Learn to sew.

Role Playing

How I love being home. My kiddos role playing constantly. "Bus driver (in this case M) driving the kids to school, all the stuffed animals were gathered on to the little bed while the driver sat on a white pillow, sounding out the bus...ruum, ruum. Teacher (in this case J) waiting patiently in the closet, I mean school ready to receive all the kids....but what's this, Barney is crying because Mommy (in this case M) left and its her first day. Everything is OK because teacher (J) is there with her sweet voice to tell Barney she will take care of him, because she has a clean heart. Later that day....Mommy (M) comes back to pick up the kids, daddy can't because he is on the choo, choo. Kids play is so sweet, so pleasant. Thank you God for such a blessing.

Garage work

Day 3 of working on the garage. My dad is converting the garage and the kids keep asking me why buelo is making holes in the walls. David actually got into it as well, as he was my dad's helper, I was so proud of him for helping out and getting along with out to much opinion. My mom has been coming to eat since she has to eat lunch with the hubby and I've been enjoying showing off my cooking skills. The kids had a hard time waking up this morning since today was our families official start of the new time change. By 2pm the kiddos were already cranky so off to bed I sent them and in less than 20 minutes both were fast asleep. Can't wait to get our house back to normal.....its messy everywhere, I'm hoping having more space with the garage will change that.

I'm home.

I quit, I finally quit my job. My husband is back at work and I'm finally at home with my kiddos. How I missed them so much, how I yearned to spend the days with them reading books, baking cookies, just being in their presence. But I'm home now and how happy I am, how happy they are, how happy my husband is. Our life just feels right, with me at home, it felt chaotic when I was a way, day after day of leaving them, leaving them to days filled with up in the air activities, instead of to order, instead of to balance, instead of to peace. The kids were stressed, my children were tired, they wanted me home and I wanted so bad to be there. But God knows why he does things and now he knows that I should be home once again with my children, taking my role back from my husband, from my mom, taking my role back to do what I do best, raise my children. Today ends our spring break, where we woke up late, played endlessly and read and abundance of books....where we just stayed home. My kids love being home, they dislike much spending time out, what is out there that isn't at home. J, M....I want to give you my love, my respect I want to give you your mother as she should be. Husband....I want to give you your home.

Love Always.

I can't keep up with this blog...but I'm trying.

I currently haven't been writing in this blog but I do see myself eventually using it because I want to document my family life even if its only for myself.

So I'm praying for patience these days....I haven't written in a long time, it's just that I'm going on 3 months of working outside my home, my husband is in furlough time and he hasn't been called back to work. I'm happy that at least my children are with their father following our home philosophy. That's what's been keeping me happy, but I need to learn to be patient and wait joyfully for my husband to be called back. I was praying for his job, but I should be praying for patience. I'm great fully that at least I was blessed to get a job in this bad economy and I should give thanks at all times that we just switched the roles. It's interesting to see the roles reversed, but I definitely understand know that there is nothing like being home with your kids. What more would I want to do than spend my time doing ordinary things such as reading books, doing chores, praying, crafts, preschool stuff and just loving my kids by understanding them through the hours I spend with them. Now I spend little time with them, I get home wanting to hug and kiss them, wanting to start our day not realizing that they've already had their day and by the time I get home, I get the one task I anxiously wait for, bathing my children, cleaning them, combing their hair, putting their PJ's and kissing them good night. Its a long day at work and now I realize more then ever there is nothing like spending time with your kids, then being at work with adults working on projects that don't educate our spiritual lives.

New way of thinking

Ok so its been way to long, it seems I always start but never finish, the good thing is that God always gives second chances all the time and I'm not going to let this one go.  My kiddos are asleep, they've been sleeping late or missing their naps lately and what use to be a calm morning is now turning into a struggle.  I need to correct that quick.  I am happy with my life and I realize that I need to take every opportunity to be a better person.

Day 2 I'm ok

It was much better today Jimena. You were happy going to school, even though both you and Moises woke up extra early (Nee woke you up) and you didn't poop at home again. Your dad and I were a bit scared of your reaction when we would pick you up. We were so hesitant. You were only there an hour again and the family just hung out at Abulea's while we waited. Moises you ran in the parking behind abuela's, running and running (I still get scared to see you run because you run like the scarecrow, cute but scary) Anyways we were there on time and Moises carried your cobija in so you could hug it as you came out. Well you came out and you weren't crying, you were actually pretty calm. Of course you hugged your cobija so tight when you saw it. The teacher said you worked well and you didn't ask for us. It was a sign of relief for both your parents. I'm ok with taking you if your ok with going. Your not separating from your parents as when we came home we enjoyed our story time like usual. I love you little girl. I love you Moises.

School Started...I want to take it back

It was your first day of Montessori school Jimena (only an hour) and you were very excited. We woke up on schedule, ate a good breakfast and put on your uniform. You looked so adorable, making faces at the camera, telling Moises how you were going to school. By 8 we were driving and made it just in time to school...the lady greeted you at the door and you waved at her smiling. She took you by the hand and you were off, by yourself, alone to take on this new challenge. I was scared but mostly excited since I had convinced myself it was better for you, even though I still thought you were to young. Well the hour quickly passed and Dad, Moises and I were waiting patiently to pick you up, sitting waiting, wondering how you were. Out you came by the teachers hand and on your face a little sadness and as soon as you saw us a flat out cry. She had gotten anxious the last 15minutes of the hour, "where's mom" she would ask," y mama?" the teacher explained to us. "Its going to get better," she insisted. I don't know, I was heart broken, here I thought you were so ready and yet still your so small. I missed you and you missed me. Did I make a mistake by sending you off even when I was doubting. I love you Jimena, I didn't mean to send you, if I could I would teach you myself as I do already. I know it was just the first day and even though I saw some kids coming out smiling, I have to remember that your not those kids and I should never compare you to anyone but yourself and will ask you to be know one but the person God created. We will try it again tomorrow because even though you cried out "no quiero ir a la esculea" later that day you all so told your dolls that you were going to school "poquito". Remember that I love you and if you ever feel uncomfortable with anything let me know so I can correct it, change it or just make it better for you. Your my little girl and I never want to break the relationship we have. If you don't want to go, we wont.

Wizard of Oz at the Plaza

Jimena, Moises, so we went to go see the Wizard of Oz on the big screen at the Plaza Theatre. Its your all time favorite movie, both of you knew exactly what was going to happen in every scene. It was so much fun, the line was huge but we still managed to get good seats. Jimena you had already gone before with your abuelos last year but it wasn't on such a big screen like today. Moises it was your first time and you had a blast, sitting on top of the pillow we carried and drinking (yep your bottle). Jimena you were sick that day, we actually went to the doctor that morning so you enjoyed it a lot but not as much still if you wouldn't of been sick. We had already bought the tickets before hand. The all time favorite movie for both of you and it was so wonderful to see your faces light up and hear all your favorite songs. We had intended it to be a Huante event but it turned out to be an Abulea event as she made sure both of you could see correctly, brought you both lunch (since we had just come back from the Juarez doctor with out eating) and sat next to you to make sure she captured every moment with you. She loves you both so much, it was ok for your parents to take a step back and enjoy that moment as well.

Happy B-Day Dad

What a wonderful b-day for dad we had yesterday. Both of you couldn't wait to sing happy birthday and your uncle Carlo took forever to arrive so we only waited for your uncle Michael to start singing. Jimena of course quickly blew out the candles before we even finished singing and said you were helping Dad. Moises you missed out, you couldn't blow fast enough. Jimena had made a nice card for dad and it included a very big hug.

Baptism 3yr

Jimena, we celebrated your baptism anniversary on the 12th at Abuela's house.  Our plans changed as we received some unexpected news from your uncle, so instead of baking we bought Dora cupcakes at Vista.  Of course we took both Moises's and your baptismal candles to light and blow as we sang Happy Baptism Day.  You were so excited and giggled so much when I would tell you how the Holy Spirit came flying into your heart that day.  You had been looking forward to this day as you kept reminding everyone how we had celebrated Moises's in February.  You received some Jesus coloring books (from parents) and a wooden cake and Disney storybook from Patuts that of course you would share with Baby NEE.  It was a lot of fun and you were very happy.  Also you understood that God listens to your prayers as that night you took an initiative to pray by yourself in your bed which I had the privilege to overhear as I lay in the dark room putting Moises to sleep.  Remember God listens as long as we talk to him and he will never leave us alone.  I pray that your parents can set an example for you to by showing and learning ourselves to trust in him.

Scribble

Moises. So your completely into scribbling with pens... scribble, scribble, scribble. I had bought some 1 subject notebooks for myself and they have been completely used up by you. Jimena of course you jumped in on the fun and now you draw trees...and just yesterday some stairs and a light that you said was like the light we have in our back yard. I missed taking a pic but you've gotten pretty good in your own little way.

Fear or No Fear to Grow Up

So I started this blog and that's all that's been on my mind, but my intention of it changed when I actually started it.  I wanted this to be about life and then it turned to just be about stuff.   Jimena, Moises how much I wish for you to stay children, for you to stay pure.  This world is filled with very perverse things that I wish for you to never encounter, but God created both of you because he has a special plan he would like for you to follow and because there should not be a fear to grow-up.  Your father and I through God's guidance are going to teach you that our life is to live with god, in him and through him.  For our eyes and our hearts will only be set on pleasing him who loves us truly thus finding our greatest satisfaction.  I will not fear you growing for I will love you and show you that there is still so much good.

Playing On The Drums

M loves playing on the drums.  I've been collecting Nido cans and now I want to see how I can create a drum set out of them.  They both love banging on them with their rhythm sticks, its so much fun.

Hanging Clothes

Not only do they wash clothes but Dorothy also hangs them in her closet.  She's been helping since she's two, M still needs more practice putting the clothes on the hanger but he does yell " Hurray" each time I help him place the clothes on the closet pole.
